litterbox setup

(info to help find this particular box, if you want ... was it at Target?)
...the removable top of the box (which I don't use) is a slightly
grayed, medium blue, with the word Sterlite embossed in the top
... measurements are 22 1/2" x 16 1/4"

The bottom part of the container is untinted translucent ...
completely flat on the bottom...angles out (only slightly) from
bottom to top (several Good Things)
... height 11"
...16" (front to back) at top
...width (side to side) 19 1/2" at bottom ....22" at top

A utility knife didn't work to cut out the step-over hole, just
cracked the plastic. Think I used a cut-off wheel bit on the
Dremel... marked a guideline first with a marker. Cutting was a
little slow but worked fine, took 5-10 min.... then sanded the edges
a bit with sandpaper and/or a grinding wheel on the Dremel, can't remember.
My step-over hole is 6 3/4 h x 5 7/8 w... and begins 5 1/4" above
the floor (wouldn't hurt to make that 5 1/2" above the floor.
If you put quite a bit of litter (3-4") in the box to start, it
doesn't have to be topped off that often...yay

ACCESSORIES I use:

The square Scoop Away litter bucket is a good size/shape and color
(white) for holding the poop and pee balls (though I may cover it
with shelf liner, etc., at some point).
...The "small gargage" bags fit really well as liners inside the
bucket, and hold tightly at the top (at least the ones from
Safeway... 4 gall., 9x8x18, 0.5 mil)... I burp the bag sides a bit to
keep them from ballooning inside.
...I keep a heavy duty metal scooper inside the bucket at an upside
down and at an angle, so I can completely close the bucket between scoopings.
...(only need to remove and discard liner and poop about once ev. week or two)

The rug is the smallest bath rug I could find... a cheapie... goes
underneath the box too.

I also have a small whisk and dust pan between the box and the bucket
to brush away the few bits of litter that don't get trapped by the
rug (some brands work better than others for us) and eventually end
up in front of the box ..sometimes I just brush them under the rug
till there are enough to mess with though!

One more accessory... I put a pump bottle of hand sanitizer near the
litter box so I can give my hands a quick go-over just in case there's any poop dust, etc., on them (it's sticking out of one of the drawers just above the litter area).

Here are some pics (they may end up being in the next "entries). Keep in mind that Marble is a pretty stout kitty . . .
